Description:

This season, local product is being purchased directly from about 14 Lancaster Co. farms during the 2008 season. Kegel's also buys from the Leola farmer auction in Lancaster Co., the Vineland Auction, and directly from farmers in South Jersey.

Preservation of Farmer Identity:

Farmer identity isn't explicitly retained in the product list but local foods are identified by their own set of codes on the product list. Lancaster farms are listed on the website and customers can state their interest in product from a particular farmer.

Local Definition & Product Designation:

Local is defined as within a 200 mile radius with special emphasis placed on farms in Lancaster and surrounding counties.
