The posters and point of sale cards are designed to help publicize your local buying program, and inform your customers about what is grown in this region.

You can download low resolution versions of the point of sale cards and seasonality chart here. The high resolution POS cards, chart and posters are by request only. All these display materials are for institutions whose local purchasing practices fulfill the Farm to Institution criteria.

Criteria for Use of Farm to Institution Marketing Materials and Definition of “Local”

Use of these materials is restricted to institutions that: Purchase and serve to their customers at least 2 locally grown products continuously throughout the growing season, and/or have a farmer’s market on campus. Institutions must also show a real commitment to steadily increasing the variety and quantity of locally grown products in their dining services.

Farm to Institution means exactly that. It is a designation that applies specifically to locally farmed products sold to institutions. This does not mean products produced locally such as baked goods or prepared foods (though we do encourage support of any local businesses) unless it is a product that is made using locally farmed products and the farm sources can be identified. This explicitly excludes products from local processors (such as Hatfields or Herrs) that do not provide identifiable farm sources.

Product must be grown/produced by an identifiable source (i.e., it is possible to trace the product back to a particular farm/farmer). Product must come from within a 200-mile radius, or from the same state in which your institution is located.

White Dog Community Enterprises owns these branded materials and retains the right to limit their use. To ensure the integrity of the brand, display of any Farm to Institution materials must follow the above criteria and be approved by Farm to Institution staff.
