Last, but not least, we want to welcome the newest member of the Farmstand family! One of our longtime volunteers, Nobuko, has just given birth to her first child, Rika (which means 'pear' and 'flower' in Japanese). Mother and daughter are doing very well, after the Friday, September 28 birth. Father Nobuki is very proud, as you can see from this first family photo. They say, "Thank you," to all of the customers and staff that have wished them well, and hope to show her off at the Farmstand soon. |

Tour to Meadow Run Farm is SOLD OUT, Thank You!
Tour to Paradise Hill Farm: Heirloom Cranberry Bogs and Blueberry Bushes Paradise Hill Farm is committed to the environmental and historic conservation of New Jersey's Pine Barrens. Specializing in cranberries and blueberries, they are dedicated to preserving heirloom varieties. The blueberries that we got from them this year were just spectacular (we also now have them available frozen), and now we're offering the white and red cranberries, fresh, at the Farmstand. The farm has been in Mary Ann Thompson's family since 1890. Mary Ann's Grandmother won the Silver medal for quality at the Buffalo exposition in the early 1900s, and she is continuing that tradition today. The farm spans over 800 acres in the Pine Barrens, with 200 acres in cranberry production. Tickets are $25 adults, $12 children (6-13) free for children under 6. Price includes tour and deliciously fresh and local picnic on the farm. Farmers Market Nutrition Program (Senior an WIC) participants receive a 50% discount.
